Online Computer-Based Training Courses that helps you train your employees to understand hazards associated with handling and processing of Combustible Dust.

DEKRA Online Training Course is convenient and easy to use. Individual Employees can train at a time that is convenient for them, at their own pace. The system automatically tracks their progress in the course along with any completed quiz scores and bookmarks the learner’s place to make it easy to resume training if training is interrupted for some reason. Upon completion of the course and a 100% score, the employees will then be able to print a certificate of completion.

Employers no longer need to pull large groups of employees off the job to complete their safety training. With no software or download requirements; all you need is a computer, a web browser, and an internet connection. It’s that easy!

  • Web-based design
  • User-friendly interface
  • Interactive Design
  • Helps to meet OSHA, NFPA and other compliance based safety requirements
  • Simple and easy to understand language with industrial examples
  • Built-in Test Q&A
  • Attention pointers
  • Pop-up explanatory notes
  • Automatically tracks individual performances
  • Explain correct answers within a lesson
  • Cost effective

Module1: Duration – 35 minutes

  • Target Audience: General Employees, Contractors, Visitors
  • Topic: A General Introduction to Combustible Dust Hazards

Module 2: Duration – 1.5 hrs

  • Target Audience: Operators, Technicians, Maintenance Personnel
  • Topic: Working Safely Around Combustible Dust

Combustible dust clouds may not normally be present in the workplace during operation of the process, but they may be present inside process vessels, dust-collectors and powder transfer equipment. Many potential ignition sources can be present in the workplace and, in addition, many of the processing operations such as milling, blending, pneumatic conveying and drying can cause the ignition of powders through electrical sparks, friction and electrostatics. These modules are designed to train the employees so that they develop important concepts regarding identification and remediation of these issues. Each module targets a different audience and include testing questions and explanatory notes pertinent to important concepts and combustible dust hazards. Special attention is also given to the application of safeguards against electrostatic ignition sources.

Best Practices for the Management of Electrostatic Hazards of Powders and Liquids

When: Wed, Dec 13, 2017 at 2:00pm EST

Electrostatic energy is everywhere; in our home, car and factory. This energy can be a minor nuisance or it can be particularly deadly when discharged in combination with the right flammable atmosphere. This webinar shall outline the background of how electrostatic energy manifests itself as an ignition source. Then we’ll provide practical best practices for avoidance and management of electrostatic ignition hazards.
