COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING ON COMBUSTIBLE DUST (CBT)

Online Computer-Based Training Courses that helps you train your employees to understand hazards associated with handling and processing of Combustible Dust.

Overview

Chilworth Online Training Course is convenient and easy to use. Individual Employees can train at a time that is convenient for them, at their own pace. The system automatically tracks their progress in the course along with any completed quiz scores and bookmarks the learner’s place to make it easy to resume training if training is interrupted for some reason. Upon completion of the course and a 100% score, the employees will then be able to print a certificate of completion.

Employers no longer need to pull large groups of employees off the job to complete their safety training. With no software or download requirements; all you need is a computer, a web browser, and an internet connection. It’s that easy!

  • Target Audience: General Employees, Contractors, Visitors
  • Topic: A General Introduction to Combustible Dust Hazards

Module 2: Duration – 1.5 hrs

  • Target Audience: Operators, Technicians, Maintenance Personnel
  • Topic: Working Safely Around Combustible Dust

Objectives

Combustible dust clouds may not normally be present in the workplace during operation of the process, but they may be present inside process vessels, dust-collectors and powder transfer equipment. Many potential ignition sources can be present in the workplace and, in addition, many of the processing operations such as milling, blending, pneumatic conveying and drying can cause the ignition of powders through electrical sparks, friction and electrostatics. These modules are designed to train the employees so that they develop important concepts regarding identification and remediation of these issues. Each module targets a different audience and include testing questions and explanatory notes pertinent to important concepts and combustible dust hazards. Special attention is also given to the application of safeguards against electrostatic ignition sources.

System Requirements

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater
  • Internet access
  • No software to install

How Can Dust Testing Help You Assess Your Risk of Flash Fire/Explosion

When: Wed, Oct 4, 2017 at 2:00pm EDT

NFPA 652, The Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust, requires the owner/operator of a facility, where materials that have been determined to be combustible or explosible in nature are present, to conduct a dust hazard assessment (DHA) to evaluate the fire, deflagration and explosion hazards associated with the equipment in the plant and to provide recommendations to manage these hazards. This webinar will focus on a description of the types of tests that can be conducted and how the results can be analyzed in order to effectively determine if a hazard exists and, if this is the case, how to effectively manage the risk.
